As many of us are coming to know, digital strategies and social networking are a growing influence in political, economic, and military planning – a good example being that much of our information as to the opposition in Iran has come through these media.

 

Marc Vidal is one of Europe’s leading experts on the digital economy and its impact. His blog  is one of the most influential in Spain dealing with the economy; considered one of the “gurus” on Spanish social networks, he has over half a million readers daily who look to him for insights on the latest developments in the digital world. In addition to his blog, Marc has created numerous web-based networks and is one of the first to effectively use social networking tools in political campaigns. He is considered to be a leader in shared digital strategies and the use of social networks. He is presently an independent consultant working with a number of public companies, as well as Director General of Cink, the first company to manage social networks and web-based advocacy.

 

He is also a member of the working group on “New Economic Trends” at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, sponsored by Telefonica. Marc has degrees in publicity and communications, as well as business management and economics.
