Commander Cooper
Commander Christopher R. Cooper Navy Program Manager, ODC, Spain In this is, our pre-summer informal dinner, the Navy League has the honor of hosting the top graduating cadet from the Spanish Naval Academy in Marin. This young officer will then leave for a visit to the Washington, DC area, including the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. We also will be saying farewell to our good friend Commander Christopher Cooper, who will share with us his experiences as An American in Madrid Commander Cooper is a graduate of the US Naval Academy, class of 1984 and of the Naval War College. Prior to his arrival in Spain in 2006, he held a number of seagoing command positions in the submarine service, culminating in his assignment as Squadron Deputy Commander, Submarine Squadron TWO, Groton, Connecticut. In 2002 he reported for duty as a member of the War Gaming Department at the Naval War College where he spent three years before taking up his assignment in Madrid. Commander Cooper is married to the former Kathleen Conroy. They have two children, Ryan (24) and Kevin (22). We hope that you will join us on this special occasion for our cadet and for Commander Cooper. The informality of the evening makes for a nice entry into the summer and our closure until September. Thanks to our host and fellow member Ronny Abagi the food and service is always a treat. For those who are new, the dress for the event is smart casual. We look forward to seeing you there.
