DEA Country Attaché Spain, Portugal and Cape Verde
Joe Bond began his career as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in July of 1988 in the New Orleans Field Division.
1999 assigned to Operation Snowcap, an enforcement strike force aimed at significantly slashing the supply of illicit cocaine reaching the United States from Latin America by the suppression of cocaine production through the destruction of clandestine cocaine laboratories in the jungles of South America.
August 1997 assigned as a Special Agent in the Mexico City Country Office.
June 1999 promoted to the Enforcement Group Supervisor, directing enforcement efforts targeting drug trafficking organizations operating in Mexico.
August 2003 Mr. Bond was transferred to DEA Headquarters in Washington and assigned to the office of International Operations where he coordinated enforcement activities in Mexico and Central America.
August 2004 promoted as the DEA Country Attaché for Spain, Portugal and Cape Verde, Africa.
Mr. Bond is DEA principal advisor to the Government on all matters relating to the control of illicit traffic in narcotics, plans and organizes DEA programs and initiatives in the host countries and is the principal advisor to the Ambassador on these matters.
BS Degree in Marketing & Business Administration from the University of Mississippi.
Married with five children.
