Our last report was seen in the Summer 2007 issue and since then there have been several changes in our membership.

They will be represented at our events by:
Ana Belén Buendía Núñez - Business Development Manager – Armada Española

INDRA joins the exclusive group of Madrid Corporate Members, they being Lockheed Martin (Platinum), and EDS.
Regarding Lockheed Martin, we were most pleased to welcome their new Consejero Delegado, OCTAVIO MANDULEY, born in Cuba but fortunately was able to get out. Octavio served in the US Navy and was the Commanding Officer of the Guided Missile Frigate, USS SIDE prior to leaving to enter industry. He has a degree in Political Sciences from the University of South Carolina and is accompanied by his vivacious wife, Suzette. We wish Octavio every success in his new posting and hope that he will be with us for a long time.

FRANCISCO PARRA CUADRO until just recently was a General de División (2-star) del Cuerpo General de las Armas del Ejercito de Tierra. He is still in the “Reserva” but is now the Director of Business Development – Aerospace and Defense for the well known firm ELIMCO.
General Parra’s varied military background was initiated in the Infantry. He served for 11 years at the Spanish Embassy in Washington as the Attaché and as a result speaks impeccable English. He then served for 4 years (1996-2000) as the advisor to the then Vice President of the Government, Sr, Alvaréz Cascos. Until 2003 he was the Director General Adjunto for Armaments and Material after which he rose to be the Subdirector General of Plans and Programs for the Dirección General de Armamento y Material.
He now enjoys having more time to spend with his wife, Celina Benítez Cruz and family, and we welcome aboard an Infantryman.
ARTURO LUJAN is the new Consejero Delegado of 3M since the beginning of the year and hails from Mexico as does his charming wife Heidy.
Arturo worked as the Deputy Managing Director of 3M-Mexico before being promoted to the position of Managing Director of the 3M Andean Division, headquartered in Lima, Peru. He hopes to introduce the wide range of 3Mproducts being successfully used by the US Navy to the Spanish Armada and we wish him lots of success. It should be mentioned that 3M is a Gold Corporate Member of the National US Navy League and perhaps we will someday have them as Madrid Council Corporate Members.
AUGUSTO d’ANGLADE is our newest addition from the Armada, he having been a Contralmirante Jefe Ingeniero de Armamento and is now in the Active Reserve with 44 years of service behind him.
